* Tuesday Aug. 4 - 5 to 8 pm. National Night Out! Franklin Park Zoo, Dorchester.

* Tuesday Aug.4 - 6:30 pm. Director of Bicycle Programs, Nicole Freedman. 566 Columbus Avenue, USES. Find out more about Bike Lanes in Boston. For more information, contact Tabitha Bennett, 617-635-3485,

* Saturday Aug 8 - 9 am - Pine Village Preschool, 700 Harrison. Open House. See the facilities of this new preschool.

* Monday Aug. 10 - Pine Street Inn Dinner. Once a year the neighborhood association makes and serves a dinner at the Pine Street Inn. We need food shoppers and cooks before the 10th and then servers the evening of the 10th. Let me know if you are interested. For more information, info@bfsna.org.

* Saturday August 15 - 2 pm to 4 pm. Family event by Washington Street Gateway in Franklin Square on Washington Street. We will have a booth at this event. Meet your neighbors. ReadBoston at the Storymobile. Fingerprint your child by the Sheriff's Department. For more info, call 617 542 1234.

* Tuesday August 25 - 11am. 1521 Washington Street. Ceremony to dedicate a commemorative plaque honoring Massachusetts' first school nurse Annie McKay who began her pioneering work in 1905 here in Boston. Contact Dorothy Keeney RN,BS,MA
dkeeney01@comcast.net or 857 991 1440 for more information. This plaque is the result of Dorothy's hard work.
